Terri Mauro is a former writer for Verywell Family covering special needs parenting. She has two children with special needs: a 25-year-old with language-based learning disabilities and a 22-year-old with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, both adopted from Russia in 1994. She has been working as a writer for more than 30 years ​and has been an editor for Hallmark Cards, First for Women magazine, and Food & Wine cookbooks.

Education

Terri received a Bachelor's of Arts in literature from the College of Creative Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
