Highlights

Sarah is an ecologist-turned-freelance writer specializing in the outdoors and maternal mental health. Whether it's the best gear to get your kids out on the trail, the perfect STEAM toys to keep your kid engaged, or how mothers can use the nature to heal, Sarah has the experience to back up her recommendations. She's spent 13 years as an ecologist and 30 years adventuring in the wild.

Experience

Sarah became a parent in 2017 after struggling with infertility for four years. She knew that she'd always want to bring her kiddo outdoors but didn't know exactly how to do it or what gear would be best. So she set out to find the best of the bets. In doing so, Sarah launched her writing career and has since worked for brands like REI Co-op Journal, Kit Supply + Co. (a sustainable outdoor kid's apparel shop), Seacoast Moms, and GRLSAVAGE (a small apparel company dedicated to empowering women of all shapes and sizes).

Sarah has also worked for Wildkind, Inc. as their Sustainability Expert helping parents bring their kids outside with more knowledge about the nature under their feet. She has also been a huge supporter of maternal mental health and worked with hundreds of moms as part of the executive team at Adventure Mamas Initiative.

Education

Sarah holds an Associate of Applied Science in Forest Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the State University of New York - College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She also earned a Master of Science in Soil Science from the University of British Columbia.
