Experience

First trained as a psychologist while at the University of Michigan, Sacha studied law at the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on children and families. Immediately after law school, she served as a judicial clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and then as a judicial clerk on the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.  She began her teaching career at the University of Michigan Law School where she worked as a Dean's Fellow in the Child Advocacy Law Clinic.  

Sacha's scholarly work has been published in numerous national law reviews and she has been quoted or mentioned in print publications, including The New Yorker and the New York Times. She is co-editor of the groundbreaking book, "Children, Sexuality and the Law" published by NYU Press. 

Sacha continues to deliver talks around the country on topics related to family law, child welfare, child and family well-being, and the regulation of families under law.  She has also led training on implicit bias and diversity, equity, and inclusion.   

Education

Sacha received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, her doctorate in Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
