She began her career as an English and Theater teacher in private schools, and after she became a mother, she began freelance writing. She later discovered that her passion for the written and spoken word translated beautifully to on-camera hosting as well as writing cultural content for publications.

In her career as a freelance writer and journalist, Lynnette writes for various publications on: education, culture, diversity, film and television and parenting. She contributes to outlets such as Parents, Reader's Digest, MSN, Common Sense Media, HuffPost, Your Teen Magazine and more.
