Laura Anderson Kirby, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist at a private practice in Chapel Hill, N.C., with years of experience providing evaluations and therapy for children and adolescents. She has broad training in child clinical psychology and enjoys working with children and families from various backgrounds with a wide range of presenting problems including autism, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and depression. As a parent herself, she appreciates that parents are the true experts on their child, and she loves working collaboratively with families to help improve their child's quality of life.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband and two young, spirited children. She also loves to write and recently wrote her first children's book, Henrietta's Thistleberry Boots.
Dr. Kirby received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University, her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and she completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center.
