Heather Wootton Corley is a former writer for Verywell Family covering baby products. She's a mother, freelance writer and certified Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor. Since her daughter was born in 2001, Heather has navigated the sometimes confusing baby products aisles and now hopes to help others make the best baby products choices without confusion.

Heather shares her car seat expertise with new parents, helping them find the right car seat for their baby and install car seats correctly, as a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and Senior Checker with Safe Kids USA. She also trains new CPSTs as a certified Technician-Instructor. As a Safe Kids local chapter director, she brings child safety programs to her community.

Heather has written the past two editions of Consumers Digest Baby Gear Best Buys, and her advice was featured in the Adiri Ultimate Baby Bottle Guide. She has been a journalist for more than 15 years, covering everything from biotechnology to large family life.

Heather has a bachelor of science degree in agricultural journalism and horticulture from Kansas State University. She is currently a graduate student at Emporia State University.

In 2005, she completed the Child Passenger Safety Technician certification course offered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide, and in 2010, she finished the mentoring process to became a Technician-Instructor.
