Dana Hinders is a freelance writer who has published several articles on photography, creative writing, scrapbooking, and paper crafting.
Dana has been an avid scrapbooker since 2002, creating her first album shortly before her wedding. Her son Logan was born in 2004 and is the proud owner of a large collection of albums documenting each year of his life. Dana prefers to create mostly traditional paper scrapbook pages, although she has recently been doing some experimenting with digital scrapbooking and hybrid scrapbooking.
In addition to scrapbooking, Dana also enjoys finding ways to incorporate photos and special memories into unique home décor or handmade gift ideas. She’s made candles decorated with photos of her son taking his first steps, wall art combining her favorite baby photos with special quotes, photo slideshows for Grandparent’s Day gifts, ornaments featuring photos from her son's first Christmas, and day planners featuring baby photos of three generations of family members.
Dana has always enjoyed helping people preserve their memories, starting with her work on the high school yearbook. Her interest in writing and photography as a way to document special events led her to major in journalism at the University of Iowa. In addition to providing the basis for her freelance writing career, this coursework offered much inspiration for her own creative memory preservation projects.
