The phrase 'you only live once' is a fallacy. In fact, you only die once—you live every day. My credo is to never take that truth—or friends and family—for granted.
Cat Matta began her career doing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism and working in in-patient adult psychiatry. Though she has a passion for the psychological field, she has always been a writer at heart, leading her to become a full-time freelance writer and editor for more than 15 years.
Her experience has spanned the gamut from writing and editing for individual artists, designers, and gallery owners to some of the world's biggest brands. However, she particularly enjoys the medical, aesthetic, pharma, mental health, and beauty realms.
Cat is a linguistic alchemist and expert wordsmith. Her ability to both create and adapt to a wide range of editorial voices enables her to meet vastly different client needs. She is currently working full-time as a senior content manager at a multinational digital agency where she does just that. She is also very excited to be a part of the Verywell family!
Cat received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, minor in Sociology, from SUNY Stony Brook, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the Honors College.
