Ann Pizer is a former writer for Verywell Fit covering yoga. She began doing yoga in 2002 as an antidote to the stress of living in post 9/11 New York City. Though she was neither particularly flexible nor fond of group exercise, she quickly found herself hooked and has been sustained by her practice ever since.
Ann became a registered yoga teacher in 2004 upon the completion of a 200-hour teacher-training course at Atmananda Yoga in New York. She also trained in prenatal yoga at YogaWorks. She has taught vinyasa/flow and prenatal yoga classes and has written about yoga for over ten years.
Ann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history and archaeology from Tufts University and a Master of Fine Arts in studio art from the University of Texas at Austin, in addition to her yoga training.
